Career

As he began playing kabaddi, his raiding skills quickly caught the attention of everyone around him. Recognizing his potential, the village seniors supported him in getting enrolled at one of the best sports centers and teams in the district, the Alanthankarai Academy. Under the guidance of Coach Ravi, Chandran underwent training that played a pivotal role in shaping his kabaddi career. With dedicated efforts and hard work, he started representing the academy in various domestic and district-level tournaments.

Chandran Ranjith began his journey in the Pro Kabaddi League with the Telegu Titans during the initial edition of the league. He was retained by the Titans for the following season. However, in his first season with the team, he had limited opportunities and scored only 6 raid points in 6 matches. The situation worsened in the next season as he was mostly benched, getting to play only 1 match. Unfortunately, he remained unsold in the subsequent two seasons of the PKL. However, in the 5th season, he was signed by the Gujarat Fortune Giants. Chandran seized the opportunity and made an impact, scoring 51 raid points in 11 matches, including 3 remarkable super raids.

In the 6th season of the PKL, Dabang Delhi signed him and retained him for the following PKL season. Chandran’s performance with Dabang Delhi was nothing short of astonishing, as he scored an impressive 153 raid points and 5 tackle points in 24 matches. He also secured 1 super tackle and 3 super raids during the season. In the 7th season, while representing Dabang Delhi, Chandran continued to maintain good performance, participating in 22 matches and scoring 118 raid points along with 7 tackle points. After the 7th season, Dabang Delhi released him, and he was picked up by the Bengaluru Bulls for the 8th season of the Pro Kabaddi League.
